Oryza Guest House

You’ve already seen so many videos and pictures from this amazing place on my Instagram and especially on stories, but wanted to synthesize all the information in one place in case you want to go there too.

First of all I like that is was localized very close to Coimbra, a city that was on my bucket list for a while now, ever since I’ve seen some beautiful pictures on Pinterest of it. But I loved that it wasn’t in the city, far from the crowds, really remote. The house was beautiful and it was built in 1918 and it is called Oryza as before it used to be a place where people were cultivating rice. The owners managed to keep the vintage aspect of the house and even some of the original wood floors and old pieces of furniture. I loved that because you know I like places with history.

Second, but actually the most important part for me was the yard they’ve had there. It was so beautiful and peaceful and for me looked like the perfect wedding venue. I loved the pool area with the outdoor bed that on the other side had some beautifully painted ceramic tiles, the orange trees and the vegetable garden they’ve had in the back were also amazing. The place gave me such a feeling of tranquility and it was a pleasure to return to this oasis after a busy day of shootings and wandering in the areas near by.

The breakfast was held outside because of the restrictions nowadays and also because the weather was quite nice and it was delicious. You can tell that they have a garden of their own in the back, because everything was super fresh and flavoured. Our room was also nice and comfy and I liked the old restored furniture from the bathroom that made everything look even chicer.

So, if you haven’t visited the Coimbra area, I think you should because there are some pretty places around that have to be seen and the perfect accommodation for that is Oryza Guest House. We even went to Costa Nova from there, also a beautiful colourful place you have to put on your list.
