That I am completely in love with Marrakech you already know and today I would like to take you on a tour guide and give you some tips that I have learned from my two trips to Marrakech and its surroundings of what you might visit if you are planning to go there.<\/p>\n

First of all I think that you should stay in the old town in Marrakech in order to feel the city’s vibe and traditions. In this old part of the city the buildings are organized in Riads<\/a>, beautiful houses with an interior garden, an oasis in the middle of the crowded city. What I recommend is for you to stay at Riad Tawargit<\/a><\/strong>, a really nice place as you can see for yourself in the previous posts<\/a> that I have shot there. I love the atmosphere and especially the view we had at the top apartment.<\/p>\n

While in Marrakech you have to see the Place Jemaa el Fnaa<\/a><\/strong>, that at a 5 min distance walking from Riad Tawargit, where you can take pictures with monkeys and snakes around your neck. Next to this square you can get lost in the Souks<\/a><\/strong>, the place I fell in love with the most in Marrakech. In there you can purchase just about everything you can possibly need in your home in an authentic Moroccan style, from lamps to carpets, painted plates, tea pots, chairs and lightning accessories, handcrafted, even on the spot in front of your very eyes. So you need to make sure that you purchase a larger luggage for your return because you will definitely go back with a lot of stuff, especially because the prices are negotiable. You never need to pay the price you are asked. We sometimes managed to bargain for half the price we were asked. If you get tired of so much shopping in the middle of the Souks there are cafes with extraordinary view over the square, you check out Nomad cafe<\/strong>, we sure loved it.<\/p>\n

While in Marrakech you must visit the Majorelle Gardens<\/a><\/strong> that belonged to Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berg\u00e9 since the 1980’s all coloured in blue and yellow. It is a great place to relax and perhaps read a book.<\/p>\n

Although Marrakech is magic you really don’t have to limit yourself and you should definitely go and visit the Sahara desert. You must be careful what travel agency you chose to travel with. Ichose Sahara Experience<\/strong><\/a> and I couldn’t be more pleased. We went for the trip with three nights and four days and as I have detailed here<\/a>, the first night we spent in a great place called L’Ma Lodge<\/a> near Skoura, the next one in the desert in a special camp<\/a>, where you can also ride the camels at the light of sunset and the third one somewhere in the Atlas mountains near Oarzazate in Maison Irocha.<\/p>\n

First stop on the way to the desert at L’Ma Lodge.<\/p>\n

We got to the desert.<\/p>\n

The next day, having breakfast on top of a sand dune.<\/p>\n

Last stop in the Atlas Mountains at Maison de Irocha.<\/p>\n

If by any chance you don’t have the time to visit the Sahara desert and you still want to ride the camels there is a place really close to Marrakech, called Palmeraie Golf Palace and Resort<\/a> Marrakech<\/strong> where you can get to experince the feeling, minus the sand dunes, as I did in my first trip here.<\/p>\n
